Launching your website
From preview to live on your own domain: what Launch shows you, what you pay and when, how the domain step works, and what changes once your site is live.
Your Marketli-built website starts as a preview. You can look at it, edit it and publish changes to its Marketli address for as long as you like, and nothing is charged. When you are ready for it to be your real website, on your own domain, you press Launch.
Launch is on your website page, next to Publish. Only the business owner or an admin can launch.
What Launch shows you
The Launch panel has two steps.
1. Your plan. The price is worked out on Marketli's side and shown in full before anything happens:
- Website hosting: A$29.00 a month plus A$2.90 GST, so A$31.90 a month. This is the ongoing hosting of your site.
- Website setup: the standard price is A$1,997 plus A$199.70 GST, so A$2,196.70, charged once for a new website. If Marketli has agreed a discount for your business, the quote shows the standard price, your discount and what you pay. You choose how to pay it:
- In full today, alongside your first month of hosting.
- Over 4 months: a quarter of your setup price each month, added to your hosting for four months. At the standard price that is four payments of A$549.18 including GST (A$499.25 plus A$49.93 GST). There is no extra cost for paying this way. Your first payment is today; the remaining three are charged with your next three months of hosting, then hosting continues on its own.
- If Marketli has agreed to waive setup for your business, it is shown as waived and nothing is charged for it.
- Due today: your first month of hosting plus either the full setup charge or the first setup instalment, GST included.
Your first month is charged when you pay. Hosting then renews each month from that date. You can cancel at any time from Company settings, and your site stays up until the end of the month you have paid for.
Press Continue to payment to pay by card on our secure payment page. If you leave the payment page without paying, nothing changes. If the price shown has changed by the time you press Continue (for example, a setup waiver was recorded after you opened the panel), Marketli refreshes the quote rather than charging the old figures.
2. Connect your domain. Once your plan is in place, the domain step unlocks. It is the same panel described in Connect your own domain: you enter the domain you already own and prove you own it, then either bring your existing DNS across and switch nameservers (recommended, one change at your registrar) or add the records shown at your current DNS provider. Marketli watches for the change either way.
If Marketli already provides your hosting under an existing arrangement, Launch skips the payment step and takes you straight to your domain.
When is it launched?
Your website counts as launched when a domain you own is verified, correctly pointed at Marketli, and actually answering over HTTPS. A published site on its Marketli address (yourbusiness.sites.marketli.app) is a preview, not a launch, even though visitors can reach it.
Once that happens:
- The Launch button goes away and Publish becomes the main action on your website page.
- Your website page says your site is live on your domain.
- Tracking tags and SEO health checks start using your live domain.
If your domain stops working later
If your domain later stops pointing at Marketli (a registrar change, an expired domain, records removed), your site is still hosted and your plan is unchanged. Your website page shows that the domain needs attention, and the button reads Fix domain. It opens the same domain panel so you can put the records back. You are never asked to buy the website again.
Payment questions
- Is the price inclusive of GST? Every price is shown both ways, for example A$29.00 plus A$2.90 GST, A$31.90 in total. Your receipt itemises the GST.
- What if I cancel hosting during the instalments? Your site comes down at the end of the paid month, and Marketli will contact you about the remaining setup balance. Talk to us before cancelling if you need to.
- Can I add an ABN? Yes. The payment page has a field for it, and it appears on your invoices. GST still applies to Australian customers.
- Where are my invoices? In Company settings under Billing, which opens your Stripe billing portal.
- Marketli app on your phone? Launching and paying are done from a web browser. The app shows you the preview but has no purchase buttons.
