Setting up your company
Sign up, activate your subscription, create your company record and fill in the details that feed your public profile, your invoices and your branded forms.
Setting up runs in a fixed order: your personal profile, then payment, then your industry, then the company itself.
1. Finish your personal onboarding
After you sign up as a professional you get a three-step welcome:
- Add a profile photo — take one, upload one, or Skip for now.
- Personal details — your full name and phone number.
- Download the app — App Store and Google Play badges, and a reminder to turn notifications on.
2. Add a card and activate
Before you get into the workspace you will see Activate your subscription with an Add card & activate button. Checkout is handled by Stripe.
The subscription is billed monthly from the day you activate — your rate is confirmed when your account is set up — and it includes 3 team members; extra seats are $19 per month + GST each. You can cancel any time.
Joining a company someone else already set up? You do not need a card. Ask them to send you an invite link instead — see Managing your team.
If you only want a directory listing rather than the platform, there is a separate one-off option — see Your directory listing.
3. Choose your industry
The Company page asks What type of business are you? before anything else. Pick your industry and confirm.
This cannot be changed once set. If you pick the wrong one you will need help from support to fix it, so read the list carefully before confirming.
4. Create the company
Click Create a Company and fill in the dialog:
- Find your business on Google — search by name and pick your business from the list. Marketli fills in the rest from there. Your business needs to be on Google to register. If you need to, use or enter manually and supply the Google Place ID yourself.
- Company Logo.
- Company Name and Industry.
- Website, Phone, Email.
- Office Address — street, city/suburb, state, postcode, country.
Click Create Company.
5. Fill in the rest of your details
Everything after this lives on Company → Settings, in the Company Details card. Worth completing early:
- Brand colour — a hex value like #1a2b3c. This colour is applied automatically to the lead and referral forms you embed on your website, so set it before you hand the snippet to your web developer.
- About — the description used on your public pages.
- Business address — this drives the map and location line on your public broker pages.
- Social Profiles — LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram.
- Service areas — the suburbs and regions you cover.
What to set up next
Most of the value sits behind three more pieces of setup, and each has its own guide:
- Connecting your inbox — so you can email clients from your real address, and so bookings can check your calendar.
- Company phone and SMS — so you can text from a number your clients recognise.
- Inviting your team.
