    Tasks and checklists

Internal team tasks, company checklists, and the client checklist your client ticks off themselves — plus who gets notified.

The Tasks tab of a workspace holds three separate things. Getting them straight saves confusion later.

    Team tasks

Internal to the deal team — clients never see these. The card shows how many are overdue and open, with completed ones collapsed underneath.

To add one, click Add task, type a Task title, choose an assignee from Assign to…, and optionally set a due date.

When you assign to a colleague you also get a checkbox: Email {name} about this task. It is off unless you tick it, and the confirmation tells you what actually happened — Assignee emailed. or Couldn't email the assignee.

    Checklists

Company checklists attached to the deal, arriving from a stage move or added manually. Each task can have a checklist attached to it with Attach a checklist to this task, which drops a copy under the task for your team to tick off.

Checklists are configured under Company → Checklists.

    The client checklist

This is what the client sees on their current step. The card is labelled with the stage name, and the description is explicit: You can add or remove tasks, but only the client can tick them off.

Adding a task for the client

    1. Open the workspace Tasks tab.
    2. In the Client checklist card, click Add a task for the client.
    3. Type the Task title.
    4. Optionally set a due date.
    5. Optionally tick Send them a push notification.
    6. Click Add.

The push notification is opt-in on every task — it is never remembered between adds. If you want them told, tick the box each time.

The checkbox is disabled, with the reason shown, when the client has no Marketli account (They'll see it when they join Marketli) or when the workspace has no client attached yet.

The toast confirms exactly what happened: Internal task added., Task added — client notified. or Task added to the client's checklist.

What you can and cannot do

    • You cannot tick a client task off on their behalf. Your team sees the client checklist read-only, with each row showing whether it is done and any due-date chip such as Overdue · 3 Mar or Due today · 3 Mar.
    • You can delete a client task you added yourself. Tasks generated from a template cannot be deleted this way.

    What the client sees

On their side the section is headed Your Next Steps, with an Add button for their own to-dos. Tapping a task opens a detail drawer with a Mark as complete button, and often a shortcut button that takes them where they need to go — Go to Resources, Go to Properties, Add conveyancer, Connect utilities.

Finished items collapse into Completed & Dismissed. Completed rows can be undone by the owner; dismissed rows have a Restore button. There is no separate archive step — the vocabulary is complete, dismiss and restore.

The catalogue of client tasks and the shortcuts behind them is edited under Company → CRM → Client tasks.
