Finding professionals on Network
Search every professional on Marketli from the Connections tab, send a connection request, and see what each side can see before and after they accept.
Your Network page lists the other professionals you work with: the conveyancer you send settlements to, the agent who keeps referring buyers, the broker down the road. You can now find anyone on Marketli from there and ask to connect, even if you have never worked together in the app.
Searching for someone
Open Network from the menu and stay on the Connections tab. The search box is always at the top, even before you have any connections.
Type at least two letters of a name or a company. Results come in two parts:
- Your connections: the people you are already connected with whose name, company or industry matches.
- Other professionals on Marketli: everyone else with a Marketli professional account who matches.
You can also search by industry. Typing "broker", "conveyancer" or "buyers agent" lists the professionals in that industry as well as anyone whose name matches.
Clients and homeowners never appear in this search. It only finds professionals.
What you see, and what they see
A search result shows a person's name, photo, industry, company and the company's city and state when we have them. That is all.
Email addresses and phone numbers are never shown in search. You only see someone's email and phone once they accept your request and you are connected.
The same goes the other way: any professional on Marketli can find you by your name, your company or your industry, and sees the same short card about you.
Sending a request
Choose Connect next to the person. They get your request in the app (on their Network page and in their notifications) and by email. The email names you and your company and links to their Network page. The email never includes your email address or phone number. In the app, the person you asked can see your email and phone straight away, so they know who is asking. You see theirs once they accept.
Your request then shows under Pending invitations on your Network page, and the button in search changes to Request sent. To take a request back, use the bin icon next to it under Pending invitations.
If they have already sent you a request, the button says Accept instead. Accepting connects you straight away, the same as accepting from the requests panel at the top of Network.
When they accept or decline
When they accept, you get a notification and they move into your connections, with their email and phone now visible on their card. You can message them from there.
If they decline, the request is removed. We do not send you a notice about it.
The 30-day wait after a decline
Once someone declines your request, Network search won't send them another request from you for 30 days. If you cancel a request and send it again, they won't be notified again for a week. This stops the same person being asked over and over.
There is no limit on how many different people you can ask to connect with.
Someone is not on Marketli yet
If the person you are looking for does not come up, they may not have a Marketli account. Under the search results, choose Can't find them? Invite them by email, or use Invite by email at the top of the page. They get an email inviting them to join Marketli and connect with you.
