Awarding points
Give points by hand from a client's profile or the rewards roster, award them automatically from an automation, and take them back when you need to.
Points can be given three ways: one client at a time, from the roster, or automatically from an automation.
From a client's profile
- Open the client from Clients.
- Find the Rewards card — it shows their balance, their tier and their last five point events.
- Click Award points.
- Fill in the dialog:
- Points — the amount, for example 50.
- Reason (shown to the client) — required, and they will read it. Thanks for referring a friend is the kind of thing that belongs here.
- Internal note (optional) — only your team sees this.
- Confirm.
You get back Awarded 50 points to Jane Smith, using whatever you named your points unit.
From the rewards roster
Faster when you are awarding to several people.
- Open Clients.
- Click Rewards in the header — it only appears once your company has a program.
- The roster opens: Every client's balance. Award or adjust points in place.
- Search with Search clients… and award from the row.
Automatically, from an automation
Add an Award points step to an automation. It is offered on booking and workspace automations only — a lead has no client attached, so there is nobody to credit.
The step needs two things:
- A non-zero points amount.
- A client-facing reason, same as the manual dialog.
Miss either and the step skips rather than sending, with This step has no valid (non-zero) point amount set or This step is missing the client-facing reason for the points in the run log.
Other skips you may see:
- This company has no rewards program set up yet — points not awarded
- No connected client on this automation to award points to — skipped
- Points can only be awarded on booking or workspace automations
See Booking confirmations and reminders for where to put the step.
Taking points back
Enter a negative amount in the same dialog. The confirmation reads Took 50 points back from Jane Smith.
Clawing someone back below a tier threshold does not re-trigger the celebration if they climb it again later — the current tier is always derived from the live balance.
What the client sees
Clients see a compact rewards strip on your team card in their app, showing their balance and the program name in your own wording. Tapping it opens a detail sheet with the program name, their progress along the tier ladder, and their point history.
When a client crosses a tier threshold, the strip fires a short celebration animation in the app.
Crossing a tier does not send an email, SMS or push notification. The celebration is in-app, at the moment they next look. If you want a client told about a tier, message them — the points event alone will not do it.
