    Getting a Marketli number

Get an Australian mobile number for your business from Marketli, with no Twilio account, and text and call clients from it.

A Marketli number is an Australian mobile that Marketli sets up for your business. You text and call clients from Marketli, and their replies and calls come back into Conversations. You don't need a Twilio account.

Everything here is under Company → Communications → Phone, and only owners and admins can see it.

If you already have your own Twilio account, you can keep using it instead: choose I already have a Twilio account on the same page. See Company phone and SMS.

    What it costs

The number is A$15 a month plus GST. That, and each text and call, are taken from your Marketli credit. You need credit on the account to start, and texts and calls stop going out if your credit runs out. Incoming texts and calls keep arriving.

    Getting your number

    1. Go to Company → Communications → Phone and click Get started.
    2. Enter your registered business name, your ABN or ACN, and your business address, exactly as they appear on your ASIC or ABN record.
    3. Upload your ASIC company extract or ABN Lookup record (PDF, JPG or PNG, under 5 MB). It must show the business name and the ABN or ACN.
    4. Add a proof of address: a utility bill, tax notice, lease or rent receipt, or title deed. If your ASIC company extract shows your full street address, you can tick the box to use it as the proof instead. An ABN Lookup record usually doesn't show the street address.
    5. Click Send for checking.

Australian phone providers have to check who a business number belongs to. Your documents go straight to that check, and Marketli doesn't keep a copy.

    While your details are checked

The check isn't instant. The page shows when you sent your details, and the result appears there as soon as it arrives. We also email your business's owners and admins, and send them a notification in Marketli. You can click Check now at any time.

If the details aren't accepted, the page shows the reason. Fix them and send again.

    Choosing your number

Once your details are accepted, pick a number from the list. You can search for digits you'd like, for example 888. Click Choose, then Take this number. It works straight away.

You can have one Marketli number. Choose within 30 days of your details being accepted, or the setup is cancelled and you'd need to start again.

Use a mobile or landline for emergency calls (000).

    The daily spending limit

To protect you from a runaway automation, each Marketli number has a daily spending limit. If it's reached, outgoing texts and calls pause until the limit resets at 10am Sydney time (11am in daylight saving). Incoming texts and calls still arrive. Contact Marketli support if you need it lifted sooner.

    Giving up your number

Click Give up this number and type RELEASE to confirm. The number is released for good and can't be recovered: clients who text or call it won't reach you. If you're still setting up, the button is Cancel setup instead.
