Creating a workspace
A workspace is one deal, shared with your client. Here is how to create one, with or without a client attached, and what each tab holds.
A workspace is one deal — a purchase, a sale or a refinance — and it is the one place in Marketli your client can see too. The property, the brief, the milestone, the documents and their next steps all live in it.
Workspaces are available to mortgage brokers, buyer's agents and real estate agents.
Creating one
From Workspaces, click New. (The same wizard is on the global + menu as New workspace, and on a client's profile.)
Step 1 — Clients
Pick the Primary client, either from Existing contacts or by entering a New one with name, email and phone. Add a second client with Add second client (optional) if the deal has a co-buyer.
A contact with no email address cannot be selected here. Add an email to their contact record first.
Do not have a client yet? Click I'll add clients later. The workspace is created empty, and everything client-facing switches on the moment you add someone. Useful when you want the deal set up before the paperwork.
Step 2 — Colleagues
Optionally add other staff from your company. Tap a person to add them.
Step 3 — Details
- Deal type — Purchase or Refinance. Refinance is offered to mortgage brokers only. Buyer's agents always get buying; real estate agents always get selling.
- Workspace name — pre-filled with something sensible.
- State / Territory — on buying workspaces.
- CRM pipeline — if your company uses the CRM. You can also choose Don't add to a pipeline. The deal starts at the first stage of the board.
- Branch — if your company has branches.
- Invite client now — off by default.
Click Create Workspace.
Inviting the client
The invite is an SMS, not an email. You can send it during step 3 by turning on Invite client now, or later from inside the workspace: on the Home tab open Workspace actions and choose Send client invite (or Resend client invite if they have not accepted).
Client rows show their state as you go — Not invited yet, Invite pending, On Marketli or No account yet.
The tabs
Once created you land in a setup wizard, then the workspace itself. On desktop the tabs run down the left:
| Tab | What it holds |
|---|---|
| Home | Stage, key dates, deal team, automations, and the client card. |
| Tasks | Team tasks, checklists and the client's checklist. |
| Properties / Listing | Saved properties, or the listing on a selling deal. |
| Briefs | What the buyer is looking for. |
| Finance / Conveyance | By deal type. |
| Services, Docs, Resources | Desktop only for Services. |
| Notes | Internal notes, visible to your company only. Desktop only. |
Mobile shows the same set as a row of pills at the bottom, minus Services and Notes, plus Matches on buying deals. Refinance workspaces drop the property-shaped tabs entirely.
Renaming, archiving and deleting
The kebab menu next to the workspace name has Rename, Archive and Delete. Archiving keeps everything and takes it off your active list; deleting does not.
